Independent Study: Non-Grad/Pink Card Program Description and Enrollment Information
- La Sierra High School will provide Independent Study Summer School for the non-graduating seniors of the Class of 2026 from June 1st to July 9th.
- Students will attend a weekly progress and evaluation meeting – available Monday through Thursday morning. There are two programs available: Pink Card and Non-Grad.

- The “Pink Card” Program:
This program is for current seniors who were unable to graduate with their class and need 10 credits or less to earn their diploma.
PINK CARD PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
Students who earn the needed credits during the summer school session will be eligible to receive their comprehensive high school diploma for the Class of 2026. Students must complete and turn in all coursework before July 9th, 2026 to be eligible for the diploma.
PINK CARD ENROLLMENT:

The comprehensive high school counselor should provide each non-graduating senior with the La Sierra High School Independent Study Summer School Enrollment information and forms.

The La Sierra High School Independent Study Supervising Teacher, will send out a meeting invitation for June 1st to all enrolled students (through their district email) to review procedures and develop a plan to complete the necessary coursework/credits.

- The Non-Grad Program
This program is for current seniors who need more than 10 credits to earn their diploma.
NON-GRAD PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Students who need more than 10 credits (10.5 and above), will be able to enroll at La Sierra High School in the iSierra Online Academy/Independent Study Program. Students have the option to enroll in summer school to complete/work on their credits. Students can earn up to 15 credits in our summer program. However, if students do not enroll or do not complete their credits in the summer, they must enroll for the Fall semester (August 2026), maintain continuous enrollment, and make appropriate progress in the program to be eligible for a high school diploma from FJUHSD. Upon completion of the required coursework/credits, students will then receive a La Sierra High School Diploma dated May 2027.
NON-GRAD PROGRAM ENROLLMENT STEPS:
- STEP 1: Complete and Download the La Sierra Registration Packet | La Sierra Registration Packet-Spanish
- STEP 2: Complete the Registration Packet Submission Form
- STEP 3: Sign the Independent Study Agreement - follow these directions.
- STEP 4: The LSHS Independent Study teacher will send out a meeting invitation for June 1st to enrolled students (those who have completed Steps 1-3) through district email, to set up an appointment to complete orientation and develop a plan to finish the necessary coursework/credits.
If you think your student should be in one of these programs and you haven’t received any notification/confirmation regarding enrollment, please contact your student’s counselor before May 29th.
From June 2nd to June 6th, please contact the LSHS Summer School Principal, Ms. Sloggett at 714-447-5586 regarding questions about your student's enrollment in this program.
*Students who are unable to complete their required coursework/credits may continue at the iSierra Online Academy in the fall. Students must enroll for the fall semester (August 2025), maintain continuous enrollment, and make appropriate progress in the program to be eligible for a high school diploma. Upon completion of the required coursework/credits, students will then receive a La Sierra High School Diploma dated May, 2026.
