Mr. Kailiponi brings over 25 years of educational experience, including his most recent service as Assistant Principal of Student Activities at Buena Park High School. Prior to joining FJUHSD, he held multiple leadership roles in the Bellflower Unified School District, including Principal of Mayfair Middle/High School (2020-2021), Assistant Principal of Mayfair Middle School and of Curriculum and Instruction (2006-2013) and Principal of Somerset Continuation High School (2013–2020).

Mr. Kailiponi began his teaching career in 1997 with the Anaheim Union High School District, where he served various roles including  teacher, department chair, and administrative intern at Gilbert South High School. At Gilbert South, Mr. Kailiponi worked both in the continuation High School and in their Polaris Independent Studies Program. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Brigham Young University and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from California State University, Fullerton.

Mr. Kailiponi looks forward to making a positive impact at La Vista and La Sierra High Schools. He believes in working with his staff in a team effort to help all students achieve their goals of returning to their home school and high school graduation.
